SAT Testing Staff — Fall & Winter 2026
We’re hiring SAT Testing Staff to support upcoming SAT administrations at test centers across the Bay Area for our Fall & Winter 2026 program.

Important: The August 22, 2026 administration is now full and no longer accepting applicants. This posting is for September through December 2026 test dates only.

Fremont / Newark / Santa Clara, CA

Testing will take place at Ohlone College – Fremont Campus, Ohlone College – Newark Campus, or Mission College.

Upcoming test dates:
  • September 12, 2026 — Fremont (Full Day), Newark (Full Day), Mission (Morning Only)
  • October 3, 2026 — Fremont (Full Day), Newark (Full Day)
  • November 7, 2026 — Fremont (Full Day), Mission (Full Day)
  • December 5, 2026 — Fremont (Full Day), Mission (Full Day)

Staff are assigned to a specific location before training based on site needs and availability. Your final campus assignment will be confirmed after hire.
This is a great opportunity to earn extra income while supporting students on an important testing day. It’s a good fit for teachers, substitute teachers, education staff, college students, event staff, hospitality professionals, student services staff, and anyone comfortable helping manage groups in an organized environment.

No prior testing experience is required. Full training will be provided.

This is also an opportunity to join our future SAT testing staff pool. Staff who perform well and remain in good standing may be invited to support additional SAT administrations, with continued opportunities expected through 2028 based on site needs and future testing schedules.

What You’ll Earn

$25/hour with a guaranteed day rate. Everyone receives the same hourly rate regardless of the role assigned.
  • Morning Only: $250 guaranteed
    Includes required training and test day, with test-day hours approximately 6:30 AM–11:30 AM
  • Full Day: $400 guaranteed
    Includes required training and test day, with test-day hours approximately 6:30 AM–4:00 PM

You’ll be paid $25.00/hour for all required time, including:
  • 1-hour virtual training
  • Required 2-hour on-site training the evening before the exam
  • Test-day hours

Your total pay for the administration is guaranteed at the applicable day rate above, whichever is greater. Overtime is paid as required by law. Full-day staff receive a 30-minute lunch break, included in the day rate.
Staff available for the full day will receive priority placement.

What to Expect During the Hiring Process

The first step in our hiring process is a short interview conducted by an AI interviewer. This helps us efficiently and consistently assess applicants using the same set of questions.
Qualified candidates will then be contacted by a recruiter to confirm availability, review requirements, and discuss potential role and site placement.

Required Training & Schedule

Virtual Training
1-hour online training session scheduled by Raise after hire.

On-Site Training
Friday evening before your assigned test date, typically 5:00 PM–7:00 PM, at your assigned test center.

Test Day
Saturday with a 6:30 AM sharp arrival time.
  • Morning-only staff are typically finished around 11:30 AM
  • Full-day staff are typically finished around 4:00 PM

What You’ll Do

Depending on site needs, you may be assigned to one of the following roles:

Proctor
Manage a testing room, verify student IDs, read and follow test instructions, monitor the testing environment, operate required digital tools, and report issues to the Test Coordinator.

Technology Monitor
Provide on-site technology support, help verify that devices are ready for testing, troubleshoot basic connectivity or device issues, and support smooth test-day operations.

Support Role — Hall Monitor / Room Monitor
Assist with room setup and student check-in, monitor testing areas, direct student traffic, support breaks, help maintain an organized and distraction-free testing environment, and report concerns to the Test Coordinator.

Physical Requirements

Staff must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for approximately 5–6 hours
  • Safely climb stairs throughout the day
  • Occasionally move desks or chairs during room setup and preparation
  • Help maintain an organized and distraction-free testing environment

Equipment & Device Requirements

You must bring and use your own required devices:
  • Laptop or tablet that supports dual-band Wi-Fi, including 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks
  • iOS or Android smartphone with WhatsApp installed and ready to use
WhatsApp is used for staff communication during test day.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old; Proctors must be at least 25 years old
  • Comfortable supporting students and following detailed procedures
  • Comfortable assisting with digital check-in and basic device-related tasks
  • Reliable access to the required devices listed above
  • Able to assist with moving desks and chairs when needed
  • Experience in education, events, testing, hospitality, student services, or customer-facing roles is helpful but not required
